Silt Traps and Pits

Installed underground, a silt trap is a small tank that acts as a basic filter system with a removable strainer basket inside. The cover is usually a steel grate and frame arrangement that is concreted into the wash down bay. Silt traps may be required in kitchens, food preparation areas, bin wash bays, auto repair shops, mechanics workshops and car or truck wash areas.

We manufacture silt traps in many sizes and configurations to suit every application. Steel covers are usually supplied with the silt trap for different traffic loads including pedestrian, car and truck load ratings.

CV Plastics can fabricate modified silt trap solutions such as integrated grease trap tanks, integrated petrol and oil interceptors and integrated pump tanks. Combination steel grate/sealed covers for simplified installation of modified silt traps can also be supplied.
